VisitPreparing the Elders of Israel to Save the Constitution Popular Last Update: 2007/7/11 2:36
Description:
Here is an excellent presentation of the key principles of freedom found in the Constitution of the United States of America. They are described as God-given, unalienable rights which the Constitution has protected for the citizens of this great nation: the protection of life, free exercise of conscience, and the right and control of property. This book is brief and succinct, but it effectively highlights the basic concept that our government was created by the people, for no other legitimate purpose than to preserve our freedoms.

The author cautions that citizens can only delegate to the government those rights which they are justified in exercising individually, and that the government cannot legitimately engage in activities that go beyond this simple principle without abridging the very rights it was formed to protect. The book emphasizes that this nation is not a pure democracy, where the majority vote rules, but rather a republic, based on the rule of law, and it shows how the founding fathers intentionally turned what would otherwise have been a democracy into a republic by using the "amazingly simple" technique of representation.

The author cautions us of excesses which have crept into the govemment's structures and procedures. He reminds us that the three branches of government (the legislative, judicial and executive) were not intended to be equal in power by the framers of the Constitution, and that only the legislative branch is authorized by the Constitution to create laws. The book warns of current situations where various government departments have become lawmakers in their own right, without Constitutional authority to do so. The precarious status of the nation's monetary system is highlighted, with the caution that the nation has strayed away from Constitutional principles concerning money and how it is valued and administrated.

Preparing the Elders of Israel to Save the Constitution is at once bold and profound, yet simple in its presentation of key elements of the U.S. Constitution, and it provides the reader with ample food for thought. This book deserves a careful reading by every thoughtful Latter-day Saint!

VisitFinancial Armageddon Popular Last Update: 2007/6/7 13:08
Description:
Financial Armageddon:

What is money? Is it the dollar bill in your pocket? Is it a check from you checkbook? Pieces of plastic the size of a business card are able to purchase goods and services, but are these credit cards considered real money? Most of us if not all, would answer yes to the above questions. However, some of our ancestors would have answered quite differently. In fact a few of them got together some two hundred years ago to debate what exactly constituted as real money and that which did not. Many of us refer to this group of noble men as our Founding Fathers.

The definition of real money is easily found within our constitution. It plainly states that "money" is to be in the form of gold and silver coins. Strangely we do not use gold and silver as money anymore. Why not? Did these metals all of a sudden lose their once highly sought after luster? Did they became to cumbersome? Possibly, man with his modern day wisdom, felt that our Founding Fathers were old fashioned. Perhaps, the privilege of using and owning these precious metals was taken away from us ever so slowly. But who would want to take gold and silver out of circulation and more importantly why?

For every cause, their is an effect. Man will someday reap what he has previously sown. Thankfully, a roadmap to financial prosperity was given to us by the Lord. In the scriptures he admonishes us to adhere to the principles of "just weights and measures." Unfortunately, man has thrown the Lord's council to the wind. As a result of this ongoing defiance, we are on the verge of reaping the negative consequences that always follow.

Today's monetary system is a far cry from being honest or fair. This book will explain to you what these consequences are and how best to protect yourself from the financial battles that lie ahead.

VisitAwakening to Our Awful Situation Popular Last Update: 2007/5/26 23:31
Description:
Awakening to our Awful Situation takes readers to the “here and now” of scripture and warnings from this dispensation’s living prophets. Using Moroni’s poignant description of the latter-days as a guide while also considering the writings of other Book of Mormon prophets, Dr. Jack Monnett contrasts current events of today with those of the ancient Americans. Pertinent but little known historical information is unfolded to help the reader understand the relevance of revelation and the role of Church members in today’s world.
Awakening to our Awful Situation introduces Latter-day Saints to American events and political practices that are frequently disturbing. Weaved with scripture and writings from latter-day prophets are topics such as America’s world wars, major media networking, money and banking systems, public education, the war on drugs, the war on terrorism, and the United Nations. Particular attention is given to the events of 9/11, the Oklahoma City bombings, and the Iraq War. Because of the pronounced impact of the collapse of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2002, a special two-hour DVD by Dr. Steven E. Jones is included with the book.

This timely book with an attractive embossed and gold foil cover will be released through Nauvoo House Publishing on December 1, 2006. 450 pp. 22.95.

Jack Monnett holds degrees from Brigham Young University and a PhD from the University of Utah. He has previously authored John Taylor: Educator and a former “Book of the Year:” Revealed Educational Principles. VisitThe 5,000-Year Leap - A Miracle that Changed the World Popular Last Update: 2007/5/26 23:18
Description:
Discover the 28 fundamental beliefs of the Founding Fathers which they said must be understood and perpetuated by every people who desired peace, prosperity, and freedom.

These beliefs have made possible more progress in 200 years than was made previously in over 5,000 years. Thus the title "The 5,000 Year Leap".

The following is a brief overview of the principles found in The 5,000 Year Leap, and one chapter is devotes to each of these 28 principles.

Principle 1 - The only reliable basis for sound government and just human relations is Natural Law.

Natural law is God's law. There are certain laws which govern the entire universe, and just as Thomas Jefferson said in the Declaration of Independence, there are laws which govern in the affairs of men which are "the laws of nature and of nature's God."

Principle 2 - A free people cannot survive under a republican constitution unless they remain virtuous and morally strong.

"Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters." - Benjamin Franklin

Principle 3 - The most promising method of securing a virtuous people is to elect virtuous leaders.

"Neither the wisest constitution nor the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happiness of a people whose manners are universally corrupt. He therefore is the truest friend to the liberty of his country who tries most to promote its virtue, and who ... will not suffer a man to be chosen into any office of power and trust who is not a wise and virtuous man." - Samuel Adams

Principle 4 - Without religion the government of a free people cannot be maintained.

"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.... And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion." - George Washington

Principle 5 - All things were created by God, therefore upon him all mankind are equally dependent, and to him they are equally responsible .

The American Founding Fathers considered the existence of the Creator as the most fundamental premise underlying all self-evident truth. They felt a person who boasted he or she was an atheist had just simply failed to apply his or her divine capacity for reason and observation.

Principle 6 - All mankind were created equal.

The Founders knew that in these three ways, all mankind are theoretically treated as:

1. Equal before God.
2. Equal before the law.
3. Equal in their rights.

and more....

VisitThe Book of Mormon and the Constitution Popular Last Update: 2007/5/26 22:58
Description:
This book is a great addition to studying the Constitution and reading the Book of Mormon. It allows readers to see the link between ancient America and the plans that God has laid out for this wonderful land, and our day. The Constitution was inspired by Heavenly Father, and studying this book will allow the reader to see the similarities between the people of the Book of Mormon and modern-day Christians. By so doing, one can forsee the events happening around them and basically predict what will happen if certain avenues that threaten our ability to be a free people are followed. This has been a great book to study, along with our study of the Constitution, "The Making of America" and "The Five Thousand Year Leap" both by Cleon Skousen. For anyone who wants to hone their skills in the area of the Constitution, these four books work in tandem. Too bad that "The Book of Mormon and the Constitution" is out of print.

VisitHiding In Plain Sight Popular Last Update: 2007/5/26 22:48
Description:
"A secret combination that seeks to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries is increasing its evil influence and control over America and the entire world."
Ezra Taft Benson, General Conference, 1988

This overall combination composed of religious, financial, and political committees cooperates and co-ordinates with all the other groups to accomplish their ultimate plan which is a one-world government called the New World Order.

That plan also entails the creation of a one-world religion, to the exclusion of all others. To accomplish the dual goal of a one-world government and religion, they have already engaged the services of a man who is and will be the Anti-Christ.

This book examines these financial, political and religious combinations and shows the false reasoning they use to deceive us. Also examined is the important role of the media in obscuring the actions of this great conspiracy, allowing them to truly "hide in plain sight."

VisitBeneath the Tide: Who Really Runs the World? Popular Last Update: 2007/5/26 22:48
Description:
"The drive of the Rockefellers and their allies is to create a one-world government combining supercapitalism and Communism under the same tent, all under their control... Do I mean conspiracy? Yes I do. I am convinced there is such a plot, international in scope, generations old in planning, and incredibly evil in intent."
-Congressman Larry P. McDonald, 1976, killed in the Korean Airlines 747 that was shot down by the Soviets.

This book is an overview of the conspiracies that encompass the world today. They slowly move our world in the direction of The New World Order, a one-world government ruled by rich and powerful cliques and organizations. Certain people such as Larry McDonald knew of their existence and paid with their lives. This overall conspiracy consists of many organizations which fall into three main categories or arms: 1– a financial arm, 2– a political arm, and 3– a religious arm.

With the religious arm the conspirators aim to create a one-world religion which will supplant all others. To that end, they have engaged the services of the Anti-Christ.

The conspiracy also employs the news media and education establishments to disguise their actions and words, giving them relative anonymity while they pursue their one-world goals. They are thus able to make changes on the surface called the world while they hide Beneath the Tide.

Control over the media and educational establishments has enabled the conspiracy to ridicule with impunity any who dare to call public attention to their machinations. Such ridicule and defamation has resulted in a public mind set that, today, automatically rejects all attempts to bring the truth to light. So the truth swims against a strong public sentiment of rejection, which was carefully created by the conspiracy many years ago.

Beneath the Tide makes many claims which are backed up by this web site. There are over two hundred source documents listed herein which is enough to convince any open minded person that the charges made in this book are true. The page number on each original article refers to the page in the book where that particular document is found. Enjoy browsing.

VisitMany Are Called But Few Are Chosen Popular Last Update: 2007/5/26 22:27
Description:
INTRODUCTION:

It is unusual to find in recorded history a nation of people who enjoyed the privilege of self-government. It is even more of a rarity to find a nation which possessed this privilege along with the gospel of Christ. This unique combination of blessings was given to the Nephites just 125 years before the resurrected Christ visited them in 34 A.D. However, by the time Christ appeared, the Nephites had destroyed their government by the voice of the people.

In this dispensation, the people of this nation have been made beneficiaries of this same incomparable set of privileges. There is extensive evidence that we are in the process of destroying the government God has given us (as did the Nephites).

The scriptures indicate that when the Lord gives to a people both a knowledge of the gospel and the power of self-government, He also places upon them responsibilities of great magnitude with respect to their government. The gospel teachings provide an understanding of the proper function of government which lays an extremely important political duty upon those who have these teachings. While we may try to separate this duty from our religious obligations, a close examination of the central problem of government reveals it to be essentially moral or religious in nature.

The power to participate in the governing process is the power to determine under what circumstances it is legal to use force on our fellow men. Governments exist for only one purpose: to make and enforce rules governing human conduct. Every rule or law which is passed has attached to it a penalty. The penalty invariably takes from the disobedient either his life, his liberty, or his property.

Under a government subject to the voice of the people, the ultimate responsibility for laws, and therefore for determining when it is proper to kill a person, jail him, or take from him his property, rests directly on the voting citizen. There is no other place to rest the credit or blame for what is done in the name of government.

This is a moral question of the most serious nature and for that very reason, it is also religious. Thus, the central problem of government, is a religious one, and anyone who assumes that he can form his political beliefs without consulting his ethics, which have their basis in religious conviction, is deceiving himself either about the true nature of government, or his moral responsibility for its actions.

The problem of government is also of interest to Latter-day Saints in connection with the privilege of holding the Priesthood. When we act through government, we are using physical coercion to compel our fellow men to do as we say, or forfeit their lives, liberties, or properties. It should be immediately apparent that we might direct our agent, the government, to use compulsion for wrong purposes, as well as for those which are right. If we do abuse the power of government, who will deny that this constitutes an exercise of unrighteous dominion?

Doctrine and Covenants Section 121 tells us, in effect, that if we exercise control, dominion, or compulsion in any degree of unrighteousness, and fail to mend our ways, amen to our priesthood. Thus, it is possible that we priesthood bearers are jeopardizing our callings by abusing the rare privilege of self-government.

The danger that we will abuse the police power any time that it is made subject to our direction is most likely for several reasons:

I. It is the nature and disposition of almost all men, as soon as they get a little authority, as they suppose, they will immediately begin to exercise unrighteous dominion. (D&C 121:39)

2. When we use force upon each other through government, we do so without fear of retaliation or condemnation, so conscience alone remains to restrain us.

3. We are easily deceived about government, because we are inclined to accept the following fallacies:

(a) Anything legal is also moral.

(b) We are not individually responsible for government action.

(c) A different moral law applies when men act in concert, than it does when they act alone.

Latter-day Saint scriptures indicate that it was necessary for the Lord to set this nation up as a free people before He could restore the gospel to earth. (3 Ne. 21:4) They also tell us that the Lord caused our Constitutional form of government to be established so that men could exercise moral agency. (D&C 101:77-78) To enable the Church to continue to exist, and to permit men to continue to exercise their agency in this land, it is essential that this government or freedom be preserved. For these reasons, if for no others, the

Lord is deeply concerned about our political institutions and beliefs.

It is not surprising therefore, that the Lord has given us extensive instructions on matters of government. It is the hope of the author that those who read this material may find, as I have, that the words of God's prophets, together with the United States Constitution, which He caused to be established, provide complete guidance on all important political problems.

If this is true, there is no reason why those who accept the words of the prophets, may not come to a unity of political belief, and thus put an end to that spirit of contention, which, if not checked, may produce serious consequences among us. President McKay has expressed the hope that this will occur. Said he:

Next to being one in worshipping God, there is nothing in this world upon which this Church should be more united than upholding and defending the Constitution of the United States. (Statements on Communism and the Constitution of the United States. Deseret Book Co., 1966 p. 6)
