I don’t think we can ignore the importance of understanding both the Secret Combinations and the principles of Liberty. The danger lies in ignoring one or the other; in not understanding the bigger picture. Moroni’s Title of Liberty is another example that illustrates the difference between Freedom and Liberty. God, Religion, Freedom, Peace, Family – these things combined are labeled the Title of Liberty, for Liberty is only achieved by remembering and being good stewards in all of these areas.
When it comes to war and the question regarding when war is justified should we rely on the opinions of men or the words of God? I believe that any question can be solved by turning to God, and His words spoken through, or written by, His prophets.
